It's been over a year since my daughter's have been on the show, but last time, last time, they came on right at the beginning of summer break, and now we got them here live in studio. You guys excited? Yeah, oh my gosh, in unison. All right, let's see, let's just get it roll and you guys just ready to go? Let's go. Let's do it. All right. What's the most exciting thing about going back to school? Let's start with Bella and then we'll hit up AVA. School supplies. All right, seriously, I knew. Why do you like school supplies so much? I don't know. I dislike being organized and it's fun to like put like all the tabs in and like put it in your backpack and just get new things. Nice. What about you, Ev what's the most exciting thing? My favorite thing to do is probably going to go see my teachers and because I'm going to fourth grade, so I get to have a locker. So probably getting locker supplies. Yeah, lockers. That us so happy when we got that's pretty exciting that and we're you know what, later on in the show we're going to talk a little bit about fourth grade and a little bit about lockers and locker supplies. But right now, what are some tips you guys have for some other kids out there that might be a little nervous about the first day of school? Ava, you got any tips for some kids that might be a little nervous going back to school? I do so, Um, if you're nervous about going to school, just remembered that all of your friends are going to be there the first day you go and if there are any new students, you can make a new friend. Nice. What about you? Be Okay, so I'm up there with you. School is definitely not the best thing in the world, but just like study hard and, like Ava said, your friends are with you to get help you get through things and you will hopefully survive. What are you most nervous about, Belle, on the first day of school? Um, probably seeing people. So only certain people do we talk to see. So here's the thing, little little background, my doubt. My oldest...

...daughter, Isabella, she's in seventh grade. Last year was her first year in middle school. Her middle school go six, seventh, eighth grade. So she's a middle schooler now and now she's a seventh grade middle schooler. And you know, they got those boy issues, man, and is there was a boy last year she had a little little sweet tooth for and now she don't want to see him at school. Right, yeah, let's be honest. That's that's the reason she had a little sweet tooth for for some vegetables, right. She liked the litle vegetable. His nickname, we had a nickname in a house form. His nickname was Carrott, and so that's why I call him a vegetable. But uh, that was a good one, Huh. So we had. So now she's a little nervous to go back to school. So, Bell what do you think you can do to kind of help alleviate some of that nervous energy and some of that stress you got about going back to school because there's a boy there that you don't really like anymore. Completely ignore him. That's one way to do it. That's one way to do it. For All you middle schoolers out there, you know what that even goes up like, even for adults. I have some clients that they have been dating a boy for a while and then they break up and they cannot handle that. Just ignore the boy, Dude. They can't handle it, like they can't figure out how to just cut that person off and just ignore him. So that's good, good advice from my middle school daughter. Just ignore the poor kid, but still be nice and respectful to all right, we've got to remember that, right, because that's the most important thing, is to always treat people who respect yes, what's up? Are you got something to say? Okay, so I am actually something. Also that Bella is not excite for for school. What's that? She starts before me. I start the night, she starts the seventh, and then I have something that like how your clients like how they can't just ignore the boy. Uh Huh. Delete them off your contacts. There you go block, to leave them off your contacts. Of what I did with the friend who I do not like. Yep, but we're not going to say to name on the thing, okay, but you're still going to be nice and respect a clip towards him. Okay, that's good, that's good. That's good. Okay. What about like if you're a kid and you're starting the new school right, like you haven't been to this school before a but do you have any tips on how a kid who's starting a new school can like integrate into that school and into that classroom? Maybe make some friends? Um, so, like at our school, if you were going to our school, or most schools, they have you have your with a buddy, a buddy, okay, and they like show you around the school. So try to make friends with them and their friends, so then you won't be as nervous because they're gonna be there to guide the way. Well, you are on your first day of school. Nice. Okay, that's a good idea and good idea. What about you? But what do you think? What do you especially a middle schooler? What do you think a middle schooler, a person that's coming to a new Middle School? Maybe their parents had to move because of a job or they just didn't like their last school or for whatever reason. Now they're coming to seventh grade. So it really depends on the school. So like if say you, you used to go to a public school and I go into up private school, you probably would need to like really like study hard and like pay attention more and kind of, like Abis said, I know at our school they give like we have a buddy when they like come to visit a school, the school to make sure that they want to go there. So, Um, you really should like hang out with that buddy. Like I know I had a buddy when I went to sixth grade just to see how the school was, and I made a bunch of friends then and then I had like other relationships. So, like, if say that you and your bet in, like a friend of yours, are going to the same school, like stick with that friend or like make a friend and then like make friends with their friends and then you'll have friends. Okay, it's like kind of like compound interest, right,...

...you make one friend and then you get to become friends with three of their friends. Yeah, and then you become friends with three of those people's friends. Yeah, then three of those before. You know, you got like ninety eight friends. Yeah, what's up? A can I say what I'm most nervous for for school? Yes, you may. Okay, what I'm nervous for is this like guy who's kind of like, I'm not gonna name him because that would be rude. You're right. So I'm not put them on blast. I'm not international radio. So right now we don't want to put them on blast on international radio. Okay, so he is in my class, in my home. Might not want to get that much detail. Yeah, we might want want to go into that must detail. Yeah, but I'm so scared because he doesn't follow the rules that much. Yeah, it's kind of like, Oh, yeah, I got you. I would. Yeah, but you're kind of a wild girl. So he might be at home right now having a conversation with his Mama. Say, and I'm a little nervous to get back to school because that wild child's going to be up in my class. But See, I thought she was going to talk about something else. I thought she was going to talk about I thought she was going to talk about how you was a little nervous to see a certain little young man. I'm not fine, I'm not talking about. She said Home Room. I knew who was. Okay, okay, yeah, so are you? Are you just let me know, let our listeners know. Eva, are you a little nervous about seeing that little young man? Yes, especially be seen my home room, because he was in my class last year and I was across from him pretty much every single time we moved. See. Yeah, so I would like just know. What about the other little boy? I'm talking Oh, the other little other little boy. You excited to see him first day of school? You know who on? Oh that one. That's what she's talking about. Okay, Oh, he's in your home and you're excited. If he is in my home and you're excited to see him. Now, nervous those so badly? So, because he's so dreamy. Yeah, that's disgusted too much. I guess that's that's yeah, what AVA, descendants to? What's my name? What made you pick that song today, because I'm obsessed with descendance to and it's the best baby ever made, ever made better than descendants one better. Oh, you heard it here first, on Dad's would swag AVA says, descendants to is way better than descendance one. You guys are listening to the DADS with Swag. It's your coach, Shawn. What's the hardest part? So last year you started middle school right your sixth grader starting middle school. There are a lot of kids right now right, a lot of kids right now. They're about to start middle school in the next couple weeks here. What was the hardest part for you about starting Middle School? Um, probably just getting used to the school, my schedule, because it's really big and I thought I was gonna get lost. So, and I know, I'm pretty sure a lot of middle schools are pretty big, so pretty pretty the hard part was definitely trying to knock get lost. Yeah, because you don't want to get lost. Yeah, because then you might like end up in a bathroom or locker. Yeah, is there any of that going on at your Middle School? No one's getting thrown in lockers or anything. Not Getting thrown. I remember, I think the last are when we were cleaning out our lockers. A couple of us were trying to get into our lockers and like fit in it and like I think like three kids were able to do it. That could infid in. So you hold up, holly, just get to get you guys, put yourselfs in the locker. Yeah, okay, okay, who cooper even try to get yourself in a locker? I don't know. Yeah, why? No, I guess it's not like you're ever going to get thrown at our school, because a private and then everyone's and then that person is just probably gonna get get kicked out. Yeah, you don't want to get in trouble, so you probably never need one. Miss Clark coming down on you. Be In life, Miss Golfy Um, because that's never going to happen and you will...

...never need that in your life, unless you go to a different school. Yeah, some kids need that. But so eva, you're about to start fourth grade. What do you makes excited about learning in the fourth grade, because fourth grade is big time now it's big time education. What are you going to learn in the fort what are you excited about learning in the fourth grade? I'm excited to learn about science, because I heard we get to diecept stuff and I like getting step from I see that is true, like making messes and being crazy. I was mischievous when I was little. You're still mischievous and so stivous. Don't try to pretend like you got over there. I have not gotten over that. Yeah, all right, I'm extreem. You are mischievous, but you're very kind and loving as well. So we took a little road trip this summer. Girls Remember, we went to Lake Til yes, what was your most favorite part about Lake Tahoe in the summer? You can go first, fellow, UM, probably stopping at area fifty one or going in the lake. That Lake like thirty degree. Who was so cold? It wasn't well, we know, when you first get in it's cold, but then you get used to it. And we were in it like every single we went there like once. I like once every other day until we left, and Bella and I would always go in there spend their the whole entire time there. Sometimes we would get out just to get a snack. Yeah, it was cold. Mama, tell you the kids that once they was in the lake, they was happy as clams, playing swim and doing that. Ms Me, I'd get in that lake for a quick second. Wife, he'd get in that lake for a quick second and we out. It was cold. No, it really for her anyways. What was your least favorite part about the trip driving? Oh wait, hey, but did you give me your favorite part? Nope. What was your favorite part? I actually have two favorite parts. My first favorite part, well, it's like either you lucky you're cute. So I'll give you two. Go ahead. Um, probably either seen descendants, to seeing the premiere of descendants, to we literally like a counted down the countdown with because it did like that. But we're three. We did yeah, we did that. You weren't there. I was right in the next room. You don't think I heard you all. We shish them. Yeah, or my other my other part was probably Um seen story. Story is one of my friends from first grade, and we saw them at the lake in Tahoe on the beach. Yeah, how random is that? Long like yeah, that's pretty cool. Of all the places you can go throughout the world, one of your old best friends that you haven't seen in like three years. Boom, Tahoe, Tah Ke, Tahoe, Data California. Yeah, that's what happens when you think when you hanging out in nor cow high everything good happens in nor cow. Well, okay. So, but what was your least favorite part of the trip? Driving. Yeah, I did not like the driving part. Oh, miserable. What about you? A? My least favorite part probably driving. Yeah, that was just awful. The movies that we rented were good, but, like I said, I had to go to the restroom. We were in the mid room. Known that we had to park the car and yeah, you probably know what happened from that. Yeah, TM, I. But yeah, we know what happened. On Daddy had to come save the day. Yeah, Huh Ava was having some shyness out in the middle of the street. Daddy had to come save the day. Happened? It happens. He would I people. Yeah, people are just like coming buying. Yeah, she stres right. It's called stage...

...from yes, yeah, state, we got that. We understand when understand. So do you think family road trips are a good way for families to bond and kind of get to know each other a little better and kind of get closer as a family? Do you think road trips help with that or no? It depends, because I know sometimes, most of the time actually, it will get like people will get annoyed with the other person and they'll just be sick of them and they won't want to be like so close to them. But like some fit like it really depends what vehicle you're running. Like. I bet if you were in like a little car or something, you would not, it wouldn't you would die. I wouldn't be fun. But if you were in like like are a long, long trailer or Rolling Turn Roll Rolling Turns, RV and Um, we watched URV and they called the arvy rolling Turd because they like they did, they were doing a road tarp and they did not get along, but at the end they did. Yeah, and so they called it the rolling Turd. And so then when anyone like had to we had to pause and movie. I would go up on like a little stool. Dude, like call it the away show. Go Up and just sing the role winter. So then what do we do when we're on our road trip? Every time we see an RV, because I roll inter or we would say like one rolling to to ruling t yeah, that's funny. That's funny. So do you think our family got closer while we was on our road trus? Yes, because Belle and I do not like each other that much. Some like before the world trip we did not like each other that much and then, like during the road trip, we like kind of got like better. Like, Um, how do I became closer for the yes, became closer sisters. YEA, and yeah, that's cool. That's what about you, bell mm? Yeah, probably not, because I remember most of it. We like, especially when we were driving on the way back, we were all like arguing with each other because, like you guys were listening to a podcast. We didn't want to put our headphones on because it was inappropriate like all that. I was like just, yeah, I've been murdered. Yeah, the last couple hours of the road trip. We're kind of like. Yeah, and I remember at night, like I feel like, especially with me and aver, there's a lot of our doing. Yeah, during the road trip. Yep, especially at night time when it's time to go to bed, since there's no air conditioning. Yeah, Oh, ever, likes to sleep a certain way. Hey, I like you on my legs, a whole fire way, and I take up my whole entire bed and poor Bella gets kicked off. So, Belle, you picked there's nothing holding me back by Sean Mendez. What made you pick that song? I don't know. I just like Sean Mendes. I have you're picking up APH. I hope you pick up the artist. You guys are listening to DADS with Swag. Hit US up. Dad's with swagcom four one hundred and five five seven nine one thousand fo hundred and eighty three. You can always leave a voicemail. Let me know your thoughts on the show girls. We got a listener question. Mom hit us up on social media. Who is this socone mom wondering how do you girls balance a busy school schedule and a busy after school schedule? Belly, you can go first. Oh Wow, that it's definitely...

...hard trying to get because I'm I do dance and I well, I just got into my dance company, so I'll ten hours of dance every week. So it's definitely hard to balance both of them. But what we do at our schools we have eight mb days, so we don't really have so like we have technically two days to do the homework, so it makes it a little bit easier, but it's definitely difficult because you have to like do homework in the car and like find other times to do homework, do it on the weekends. You really don't get much free time. You pretty much we'll have to do your after school activity like, for me, dance and then school, like that's all you have. Like you won't have like because you have to do homework on the weekends and on the on your car rides and on places, like just every time you were have free time, you have to do homework if you have a lot of homework. Yeah, what about you? Where you got any tips? But those little Munchkins out there trying to figure out how they can squeeze in some more playtime. So actually, I am only doing one class in my dance last year I did too, but I did not like the to I was doing because people thought I was that I did something that I didn't do the I like this boy that I did not like. A lot of your drama. Life resolves around boys. It does this, is it can daddy too happy? Dad Is Hope You dad. He's a little nervous right now. All right, so now you taking one dance class and you taken some acting. Yeah, I'm taking theater at desert at desert stages, being on the street. Big, Gout, shout out to desert stages Phoenix, Arizona. Come check them out their new location at the Fashion Square Mall what what taking over that old Harkins theater about to do big things. So if it opens, well, I'm doing it. I might be. I might be performing there. I bet you will be forming there. I bet, Hey, maybe we can get ten percent of Dad's would swag the listeners worldwide to come check out AVA's acting debut? Will Not because you've been and shows a desert stages before? Yes, but this is gonna be this is going to be the fashion square new studio debut. Come check her out live on stage. What you think? Degert stages is cool. People should send their kids there. Yes, it is very fun. It's very, very crid friendly. They actually have snacks there, so like in the middle you get to like go get a snack. Yeah, and they have actually the same thing we have at our school, like the snack cards. Yeah, where you get to mark twenty off, so you have twenty snaps. Yeah, even loves her snacks. I do. I judges every place we go on availability of snacks and how delicious those snacks are. Yep, snacks are important. What I would do for like tips, I would probably say focus more on your school work. Like I'M gonna Happy. I'm going to have to do school work in the car now because, but not always, because this is only on Wednesdays. So Mel and our kind of struggling because she has a class on Wednesdays. So I've I have dance on Wednesdays from for thirty to nine o'clock at night. MMM, and she has her theater thing starts at for so it's definitely going to be for two six. Yeah, Daddy's got daddy's got some commute and I think I got a game plan, because part of it's from the parents perspective to write, because parents we need to have a game plan in a effect right to make sure that kids have food that they need, that the game plan in the Road Map is mapped out to be able to get your kids from one event to the next. It's kind of challenge, kind of far away. Yeah, when it was it's called desert cities. It's pretty much in...

...the middle of nowhere, in the middle of deer it's just in the most popular mall in all of the town, right the heart of Old Town. Scots, they'll but if you want to call that the middle of the I I'm just saying and I'm like, it's really hard to get to. That's true. It is, and daddy does refer to it as the faraway mall. Wait, true. That the fact. So where? So, since the last show we did together, daddy got married. Yeah, do you have any advice? How's that going? How's that? How's that going? First let's talk about that then we'll get into the device. Daddy got married since our last show together. How's that going so far? For us? Well, you guys, for you guys? Well, it's going really good because I love the person who you married, Megan. She might have come on your show before. Yeah, she's been on. Megan's been on the show if you talk. Yeah. So we're super nice, super carrying, super kind. It's just all of the traits of a real, actual mom. Yeah, that's good. So, like, I don't like saying stepmom because it reminds me of the evil stepmother the in Cinderella. So same with Megan. So we like to call so they she just let us call her Megan by her first name, yeah, or Maggie. I call her mackey. Yeah, yeah, what about you be it's definitely different because I knew I for my first three years of my life, three or four years in my life, I my parents were married. So it's definitely different because we they were married and then they were divorced for a long time and then I'm twelve now and they got and then my dad got remarried and I my dad are so like, such a me and my dad are such a like and like we're like one person. So it's really, really hard to give him up and have him have somebody else. But I ave a said, Megan's really nice and awesome and all the traits of THEMM. So it's a way, it's a it's a win lose situation. Yeah, but I think you put them together, they look the same exact, except one's a boy and one's a girl, and I have a longer beard than you do. YEA, even she doesn't even have a beard or a mustache. True, that, true, that. Do you have any advice for kids out there if they're if their dad's are are about to get remarried and you know they're these kids are getting a new stepmom or a bonus mom? Go ahead, a DOTY's throat these kids down some knowledge, give him some tips, some advice on how they could handle this situation. Will you let me speak? I will um probably just think on the positive side and not the negative. Try to find all of the good things about the stepparent and try to only make them not let out, make them not let out their inner anger. Don't make that happen. Yeah, and then I have something to say about that. Bella said like about how how, Bella, you how you had pretty much them, like married for, like you, pretty much your whole life. No form now, like years. All right, sorry, sorry, three years. Sorry. Um. Oh, well, with me, they got divorced when I was one, so I never got to see them. So you never got to see so do you view it differently than Isabella? Yes, bell do you even remember me and your mom being married? Yeah, you do. Yeah, but tell me a memory that you got. Yeah, UM, because I don't really think you got memories from three years old. Well, go ahead, let's see. I don't know, I don't haven't any three R buster. So, okay, Yah, well, because I remember my mom wasn't there all the time because she had work really early in the morning. Huh, so he was a stay at home dead watch it was yours, are you do? Why? Check it out a Z dad'scom. All right, go ahead, sorry, you got off topic...

...a little. Go ahead. He's pouring out her heart and we're interrupting. All right, but I'm like, I remember, like it's real. It was. It's hard because, because you were so little, your memories that you had of me, you and your mom living together. It's hard. It's hard to come up with it and they have it. Doesn't have any because you was just a little teeny time. Memories from when I was three, just not yeah, because my mom was like we have leave early, and I'm very early, not very early. I all right. So what's the best part about having a bonus mom or stepmom? May even don't like honor stepmom's will just refer to her as bonus mom, plus mom, extra mom, Maggie, Meg, Megan, Maggie, awesome name, dog, meganator, all kinds of different babe. Babe who I think kissing. Go ahead, Hey, were you first? What's the best part? The best part is that you get, actually, some people might think that it's something for extra toys, extra stuff like that, but I don't think. I think it's like you get extra care, in a kind of, like to say, extra attention, just because, yeah, yeah, so, and also you get like extra, like I said, extra care and extra kindness, because they they should probably be nice to you and kind to you. So, like if you have, like I know I have like a genormous bud light on my leg and she was so kind to me when I could not sleep yesterday. She gave me some band AIDS and some cortisowme. So, yeah, Nice, Nice. What about you? Be What are what's the best part about having a bonus mom? You have somebody else to talk to. So, like, if it's if you think it's awkward to talk to like your real mom, or something about, like something personal, like boys. When a middle schooler says personal, they mean boys. Yeah, not all the time. Sometime, shaving, like what she's saying. Heck, you have like another person to talk to, so you feel more comfortable in life. There you go, there you go. Reason to I. We're going to start with bell this time on this question. What's the worst part about having a step mom or a bonus mom? It can get stressful with like having to be cuse, like your parents are already divorced, so you have to like switch houses and then you get another like mom. So then you have to like if you're like, if you're like me and you like a really close to your dad, then you have to give a give your dad up to somebody else, and it's like it can get very stressful and cause a lot of stress in your life. If you think, it really just depends on the person. Yeah, what about you? A? Well, like he was saying, like you guys are really close. So sometimes he doesn't even let me hang out with him. Like sometimes she takes all the space of cut of time and I don't get to Cutt with him, but I get like the teeny's Chinese dot space. She gets like a ginormous piece of the catch. Yeah, so I think the worst part about it is probably when I have some theme that's really important to me, like, say I have a because I'm starting the O, say I have a performance on the same day Megan has an event for her company, and like that would be really important to me. So, like you, we all have to go to your to her, to her event, instead of me having getting to go to instead of my family getting like I would get to...

...go to my theater thing, because obviously have to go down, have to go. So I have to go to my show, but it would be really sad if they all went to her event instead of going to my show, which really my play that which really went a lot, which really meant a lot to me. Yeah, yeah, do you think, moost? Do you think? Yeah, I was going to say that that's a good point. Do you think? You think that most MOMS are bonus moms out there would would put their work before their daughters or stepdaughter's performance? Not Unless they're like Lady Germaine, which is that it was step mother and Cinderella. Okay, bells going crazy right now. What's going on with Bell Yeah, well, I just think it out. Another first of her advisory that I really wanted in my advisory Adventually, how she crash, Kayush cashy, look for put them on blast. But you're excited to have this person in your advisory. Thank you so much for listening. Getting I think it's really important every now and then that you guys get some knowledge from a kids point of view. Right. So much time I tell you guys some information and drop some knowledge on you guys. That comes from a parents point of view, but every now and then it's good to get it from a kids point of view, because sometimes we don't know what they're thinking about. We think they do, I mean we I think, we think we know what they're thinking about, but we really don't. So it's nice to get it from that perspective. And today I brought my kids in the studio and I asked them some of these weird, random, strange questions, but it really broke down some barriers and let me know a lot about what they were thinking. It's so important to set your kids down and have these conversations. There should be nothing that you cannot have conversations about, and you start off small and then it goes bigger and bigger and bigger, and then when the big things in their life occurs, you know, the pregnancies or the the boys or the sex or the marriage or any of these things that happen in lives, they're going to come to you and they're going to feel comfortable enough to have these kind of conversations with you because you've started small.

You opened up the dialog when they was little. So parents, I ask if there's anything at all you get from this show other than the love of my children, like I got, and a whole bunch of belly laughs like we got today. If you can please, just after today's show, write down a couple questions to get to know your kids a little bit better, we out.
